I used to wonder “What does it feel like to be a part of the Christmas season?”
If you asked me how my 2023 has been, I’d say I’ve done better than last year (but still, 2022 was my best year tho).
In the past months of 2023, I’ve been comparing myself in 2023 to my life in 2022. Even though I lost my side hustle job in 2023, I gained many immaterialistic things I need. I wouldn’t lie that I felt sad since now I only have one source of income, but while searching for another side hustle job, I started to understand that I might need to learn to be “enough” and be grateful for what I have now.
I’ve considered opening a FnB business in September 2023 like in April. We didn’t want to re-open our previous FnB business because it was hard for us to find our target market, since now I live outside Jakarta (Indonesia’s capital region). It took months to consider what to create, my boyfriend and I did some research and development, and trial-error. Finally, after months and months of experiencing our trial and error phase, we opened our small business on December 2nd.
This is the first proper logo I’ve created, even my previous FnB business didn’t have the proper logo, so I think it’s safe to say that this is the challenging journey I value the most. What does it mean by “challenging”? For me, I personally didn’t have any background in design or culinary. Thus, creating a logo is quite challenging for me, I need to think a lot about how to make it eye-catching and different from the others, and thank God, I passed my first challenge, even though my logo might not be as good as the designer made.

Yeah, we sell soft cookies! Actually, I never thought that I could make a good cookie, my first attempt was a big fail, and that successfully made me afraid to try again. In the trial and error phase, I deeply put my heart and mind into making this a success, and thank God even though we didn’t sell that “much”, my goals were accomplished.

I always see people giving hampers to their relatives, and I’m curious about the feeling of making worthy hampers that everyone would consider giving to their relatives, I want to be a part of the Christmas season. And so, I did.
I’m beyond happy and blessed to finally experience the feeling that I’m curious about the most, it was exciting to get good reviews and to see people are happy receiving Perfectly Baked.
I have a good feeling that Perfectly Baked will be big someday, and I can't wait for it! For now, I will always be grateful and cherish every moment I spend while baking. In this new year, I hope I always have the same feeling as I felt during the Christmas season.
